2025 Pikes Peak Sunrise Openings

Experience sunrise on the Summit of Pikes Peak. The Gateway will open at 4:30am and a timed entry permit per vehicle ($2) and admission fees ($10 per person) must be purchased in advance online ... NO Gateway sales will be made.

Early entry is limited to 180 cars (this will sell-out) ... passes and tickets must be made in advance ONLINE.

The City of Colorado Springs opens the highway early, so visitors can drive the 19 miles to the top in time for sunrise starting at 5:22am. It is important to be among the first in line ... we suggest arriving at the Gateway no later than 3:30 to 3:45am.

This "early opening" will be repeated on July 18th (4:30am) ... August 1st (4:30am) ... September 27th (5am) ... and October 13th (5am).

2025 Pikes Peak Challenge

Our Clubs members have been the Official Photographers for this wonderful annual event for over 20 years, capturing images of the event from when hikers start at the Barr Trail "Trailhead" ... to when they cross the finish line at the Pikes Peak Summit (14,110 ft) ... a hike of 13 miles. Our members are also at the Manitou Park gathering point, and the halfway point at Barr Camp.

All funds raised at the Pikes Peak Challenge supports the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC)
